Fall Odyssey 2006

One Week in SoCal--August 22-27th, 2006

Soooo....2 weeks after becoming unemployed I headed down to SoCal. I figured this was the best place for me to start...figuring.

I stayed with my sister's family in Carlsbad. My nephews Rory & Colin allowed me to tag along with them one afternoon to fish off the Oceanside pier.

Andrea was exhibiting at an Encinitas art show on a Sunday afternoon, so I went along and checked it out. I took Rory & Colin on a beach hike south along the coast for about 3 miles while Andrea exhibited away. We came back sunburned and drenched from climbing rocks too close to the break--but we had fun.

Among other things that transpired during this August week, I attended a Ted Nugent concert at the Anaheim House of Blues at Downtown Disney with my nephew Kelly. Kelly turned 17 on Aug 23rd. The concert was on Aug 22nd. Kelly, being a fan of 70's rock, was game for the show. We were both deafened by the Motor City Madman, who--by the way--happens to suffer from hearing loss himself!
